Lewis Hamilton REVEALS there is more in the ‘pipeline’ at Mercedes after a mediocre 2024 start
John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports

The Mercedes F1 team has got off to an immensely challenging start during the ongoing 2024 season. After six rounds the outfit is way behind McLaren, Ferrari, and Red Bull, but despite this, Lewis Hamilton is doing his best to keep a positive outlook.

Ahead of the upcoming Imola event, Lewis Hamilton has made it known that Mercedes has new things coming onto the W15 quite soon. The Brit genuinely feels that the Brackley-based team is moving in the right direction with its 2024 challenger.

Mercedes has so far managed to amass only 64 points in the 2024 Constructors Championship.

Yeah, from my side it's not been great, but the last race was positive, and there's a long, long way to go. I'm just really excited about the developments that are coming. We've had a step in the last race, we've got a step this weekend, and there's more in the pipeline. I feel like we've kind of found more of our North Star and what we need to do and change, it just takes time. Lewis Hamilton said in thursday’s Imola interviews

The 39-year-old has not left any stone unturned in making it known that Mercedes is making continuous progress. Moreover, he has also emphasized that his team has quite a few things planned that could help him and George Russell in making up the lost ground to McLaren and Ferrari.

George Russell claims ‘everybody is motivated’ at Mercedes

While Hamilton is keeping a positive frame of mind ahead of the upcoming event, the same is the case with his teammate, George Russell. The latter is also content with how hard the people at Mercedes have been working to improve the W15.

The 26-year-old managed an eighth-place finish at the Miami Grand Prix.

I think it's very clear the direction we need to head, and that gives people motivation and a clear platform where we need to develop upon. Time will tell in the coming races, but the morale or the motivation has not dipped whatsoever, and everybody's so motivated to get Mercedes back to the top. George Russell said in thursday’s Imola interviews

Mercedes has not been able to come up with a potent challenger under the current set of F1 regulations. During the turbo hybrid era, the outfit used to operate in a league of its own, and thus, everyone on the team is putting their best foot forward to bring back the glory days.

However, keeping in view the steps that teams like Ferrari and McLaren have made this year, it could prove to be quite a difficult task for Mercedes to challenge them. The upcoming Imola event could give a slight representation regarding the potential of Mercedes going forward into the ongoing campaign.
