Injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar has shared the latest update on Richarlison’s injury.

The Brazilian striker suffered yet another injury setback, picking up a calf injury which saw him miss the match against Burnley and Manchester City.

Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou confirmed the severity of Richarlison’s injury in a pre-match press conference ahead of the Manchester City game, noting that while the injury is not deemed overly serious, it is significant enough to sideline the player for the remainder of the campaign.

Dr. Brar has provided further insights into Richarlison’s condition, claiming that he is unlikely to require a surgery, however, suggested that the injury could be a grade 3 tear.

Despite the setback, the doctor expressed optimism about his early return, stating that he should be ready for pre-season.

Speaking to Tottenham News, he said:

“With him not being named in the squad for Copa America, probably due to his lack of fitness, I imagine this has to be a higher severity case, most likely a Grade 3 tear.

“Surgery is quite rare in these cases but calf injuries are very sensitive and troublesome due to the constant demand placed on them, especially if the player has already suffered from them.

“That being said, I would expect him to be ready for pre-season.“

Richarlison’s future at Tottenham uncertain

Richarlison’s future at the club is not very certain. It has been recently reported that he is among the players Tottenham could be prepared to offload for the right price.

Saudi club Al Hilal have a long-standing interest in him and are reportedly poised to make a move for him in the upcoming transfer window.

The recently turned 27-year-old forward has scored 11 goals and provided 4 assists in his 28 Premier League appearances this season, including 9 goals in his last 11 starts.

Although Richarlison’s recent form is praiseworthy, it doesn’t negate his underwhelming performance in the previous season.

He struggled to make an impact in his first season following his big money move from Everton in the summer of 2022, managing to score only 1 league goal all season.
